Where have I been? I really should be more on top of these VERY important national holidays! Thanks to my good friend Melissa, we didn't miss out on the fun. Today is NATIONAL DONUT DAY! When I was a kid, we used to celebrate Fasnacht Day but after googling I realize that is actually yet another national donut day! One celebrated by the Pennsylvania Dutch (or anyone that is a fan of donuts!).

So, to help celebrate this very important day, we have found a few places that are experts in the art of donut making!

Fractured Prune - (yes, we know...strange name for a donut shop!) - The Loudoun County Virginia locations will be giving everyone a free OC sand donut (check your local store for their giveaways!)

Dunkin' Donuts - free doughnut with the purchase of any beverage

Krispy Kreme - free doughnut for every customer

That pretty much covers the national franchises. I could be here all day if I tried to list all the local promotions. Sorry, but I've got more important things to do, like find me some free donuts!

One more thing, is it donut or doughnut? Apparently, it's either - Merriam-Webster - mystery solved!

Wow! Between Regal Entertainment Group & AMC Theatres, it's going to be a movie watching summer! From June 17th-August 5th, AMC will have $1 movies every Wednesday starting at 10 AM.

All admission and concessions proceeds* from AMC Summer MovieCamp will benefit Variety - The Children's Charity and the Will Rogers Institute. Talk about a great reason to check out a movie!

The AMC KidsPack (kids' size drink, popcorn and snack!) will be available for only $3!

Our blog has turned into 'what I want to do with my kids this summer'! The Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia definitely looks like a must for anyone with young kids. Remember the "walking piano" from the blockbuster movie Big? Well, your kids can run up and down that same piano which is now on display at the Please Touch Museum!




Another attraction not to be missed is the Woodside Park Dentzel Carousel which is a beautiful fully refurbished carousel!




Oh, and Wonderland! Wow, I want to be a kid again! In Wonderland, kids can journey down the Rabbit Hole like Alice and enter a topsy-turvy world, weaving through a circular maze and discovering the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

Everyone loves ice cream! Well how about free ice cream? This Saturday, May 30th, Walmart is giving away free ice cream at select locations. Promotion is from 11-4 and only available while supplies last so hurry on over! More information can be found here. ENJOY!

Summer is quickly approaching and 'Mommy, I'm bored!' is sure to be in your near future. Well don't worry, because we have got a great idea for at least one hot summer day. Check out the FREE (yes, I said FREE) Family Film Festival! Since 1991, Regal Entertainment Group has been offering free movies for a 9 week period during the summer. Selected G & PG movies start at 10AM each Tuesday and Wednesday during the festival. First-come, first-served seating is limited to theater capacity. Tickets must be purchased at the theater.
