Where have I been? I really should be more on top of these VERY important national holidays! Thanks to my good friend Melissa, we didn't miss out on the fun. Today is NATIONAL DONUT DAY! When I was a kid, we used to celebrate Fasnacht Day but after googling I realize that is actually yet another national donut day! One celebrated by the Pennsylvania Dutch (or anyone that is a fan of donuts!).

So, to help celebrate this very important day, we have found a few places that are experts in the art of donut making!

Fractured Prune - (yes, we know...strange name for a donut shop!) - The Loudoun County Virginia locations will be giving everyone a free OC sand donut (check your local store for their giveaways!)

Dunkin' Donuts - free doughnut with the purchase of any beverage

Krispy Kreme - free doughnut for every customer

That pretty much covers the national franchises. I could be here all day if I tried to list all the local promotions. Sorry, but I've got more important things to do, like find me some free donuts!

One more thing, is it donut or doughnut? Apparently, it's either - Merriam-Webster - mystery solved!
